Today, I had the honour of presenting my book, “One Thousand and Ninety-Five Days” … and Counting: Communicating the Strides of a Reformer-in-Chief, to my principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The book chronicles my observations and interventions across the first three years of his administration, highlighting the bold reforms that have set Nigeria firmly on the path of recovery and renewal.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — the Reformer-in-Chief — is the architect of democratic survival and political reinvention. I have come to regard him as the Houdini of political and economic survival, a man who repeatedly emerges unscathed from carefully orchestrated situations designed to politically drown, constrain, and ultimately asphyxiate him.
Over the course of these one thousand and ninety-five days, Nigerians have witnessed an administration that has confronted structural reforms which previous governments either avoided or tackled only timidly. These bold steps have understandably generated anxieties and sparked legitimate public debate.”
